French Biot Jarre, mid 19th C
Biot jarres are a style of pottery that dates back to the 17th century. They are handmade in the south of France and are distinctive for their shape and robust form. The jarres were originally used for food storage and today make great decorative pieces indoors or out.
This attractive biot is in good condition with original blue pigment,and internal glazing. There is a small chip on the rim consistant with age.
